Jeannette Jackson Is the founder and Director of the Manchester Stress Institute; A corporate health & wellbeing training company, presenting workshops & seminars to improve staff health, wellbeing and performance.

After finishing school Jeannette started working at BBC TV Oxford Road in the costume and makeup dept in 1998 and whilst working there began writing a health & wellbeing column in  a local newspaper in 1990.

Jeannette Interviewed a reflexologist (it wasn’t that well known at that time in the UK) and fell in love with the idea of healing through touch.  Jeannette became keen to find out more about Reflexology and so in 1993 began a two year reflexology training course at the Three Counties College of Advanced Reflexology under the guidance of teacher Barbara Alexander.

With her connections to the BBC Jeannette was lucky enough to set up a clinic in the Occupational Health Dept at the BBC Manchester and practiced in this clinic for 8 years. Often treating many celebrities that came to the BBC.

During this time Jeannette became interested in nutrition and so in 1998 she completed a two year Natural Nutrition diploma.  This led to presenting workshops within organisations helping staff with health and wellness.  Jeannette also became interested in the natural healing system of Reiki and became a Reiki Master/Teacher.

Although she was still working with Reflexology she started presenting nutrition in an award winning DVD called Bodylicious with La Velle Smith Jnr (Michael Jackson’s choreographer). She presented a programme on Sky TV with Claire Richards from Steps called ‘A Slave to Food’ helping Claire to develop a healthier association to food.  Also a six part series on Sky Living called ‘Bigger Than….’ helping people get healthy through nutrition and healthier lifestyles.

Always having a thirst for more knowledge Jeanette was keen to learn more about the science of health so in 2002 she began a full time three year BSc Hons degree in biochemistry and qualified as a nutritional biochemist scientist in 2005 from Salford University.

…..and if that wasn’t enough learning!

In 2016 Jeannette completed a post graduate training at Middlesex University in Sports Science and is now a qualified Elite Sports Scientist and CISSN registered with a clinic at MiHp the Manchester in Institute of Health & Performance.

The Manchester Stress Institute looks after the health and wellbeing of the BBC staff and offers digital multimedia wellbeing podcasts and webinars for the BBC Club and Jeannette recently interviewed Melanie C from the Spice Girls, Pixie Lott and BBC radio Two Jeremy Vine on how they maintain their health and wellbeing with their busy schedules and lifestyles.

Amongst all of this Jeannette’s roots still lie within Reflexology which she still practices but in a lesser degree, but enjoys receiving Reflexology to help keep herself as well as possible.
