 Which Membership Category is right for you?

CAR has an excellent reputation for high standards of training and practice, and has a spirit of inclusion, wishing to embrace new members from all backgrounds, whilst providing assurance, for all members that high standards will be preserved within their membership.

CAR also aims to help level standards of practice by offering friendly Continual Professional Development (CPD) recommendations through a range of assessment opportunities.

As such, we offer a variety of membership categories, thereby providing opportunities for all interested parties to become a part of our Association.

As a CAR member, you will gain access to a full range of benefits to support your business and promote your professionalism to clients and other healthcare professionals, for example, professional status, access to comprehensive and competitively priced insurance, annual subscription to the Clinical Reflexology News and much more.

Full Membership of the Clinical Association of Reflexologists is welcomed from:

  • Reflexologists who have successfully completed the CAR accredited Reflexology Practitioner Diploma (Module 2) course or equivalent.

Full Members of the Clinical Association of Reflexologists are entitled to use the designated letters MCAR after their names, which stands for Member of the Clinical Association of Reflexologists.

All Full and Associate Members must be fully insured to practise on the public.

All Full Members are required to undertake CPD as part of their professional practice.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership of the Clinical Association of Reflexologists is welcomed from:

  • Reflexologists who have successfully completed the CAR accredited Reflexology Therapist Diploma (Module 1) course or equivalent and are continuing on to further training.
  • Reflexologists who have trained on non-CAR accredited courses.
  • Reflexologists who may wish to build on their initial training for a variety of reasons.  These reasons may include the length of time that has passed since their original course, having taken a break from practice; feeling they lack skills, knowledge or confidence; wishing to upgrade skills and knowledge to practice as a clinical reflexology practitioner, or to meet UK standards.

Associate Members of the Clinical Association of Reflexologists are entitled to use the designated letters ACAR after their names, which stands for Associate Member of the Clinical Association of Reflexologists.

All Full and Associate Members must be fully insured to practise on the public.

All Associate and Full Members are required to undertake CPD as part of their professional practice.

Student Membership

Applications for Student Membership are welcomed from:

  • Students commencing the CAR accredited Reflexology Therapist Diploma (Module 1) course or equivalent.

Friend Membership

Applications for Friend Membership are welcomed from:

  • Qualified practitioners taking a break from practice.
  • Those wishing to keep in touch with the Clinical Association of Reflexologists and its members.
  • Those interested in reflexology or complementary therapies.
  • Members of other professions.
  • Any other interested parties.
