Self Care – An Essence for a Carer

Posted by Rosie Plunkett – Friday, April 1st, 2016

What is the reasoning behind this topic? I am aiming to discuss the need for more Self Care and ‘Managing your Emotions‘. We can increase better health and prevent further imbalances and diseases if we choose to acknowledge our emotions as valid clues and then take steps to help ourselves. Everyone in the household makes a contribution to a happy environment, be it a human or animal. Focussing on the role of a Carer highlights the vast majority of our population who do CARE and may get lost in the role.

How many people do you meet in a week that are carers?

Do carers come to you as a reflexologist to give them a safe space to unwind?

Are you a Carer in your personal life and a Therapist in your professional world?

Anyone who cares,  paid or unpaid, for a friend, family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem, an addiction and cannot cope without their support, is a carer.

Many feel they are doing what anyone else would in the same situation; looking after their mother, son, or best friend and just getting on with it.

Carers don’t choose to become carers: it just happens and they have to get on with it; if they did not do it, who would and what would happen to the person they care for?

How many children take on the emotional caring responsibilities that would normally be expected of an adult?

A young carer does practical tasks, such as cooking, housework and shopping.Help a parent on stairs or helping with toileting needs.Looking after or “parenting” younger siblings is common. Interpreting falls on the child, due to a hearing or speech impairment or because English is not the family’s first language.

How many dogs are Carers?

Dogs do mirror their owners worries and behaviour and naturally go into the carer mode. Dogs give out unconditional love and really only want a good relationship with their owners. Kerrie Searle an animal communicator shared her knowledge in her “Wellbeing for Animals Workshop” I attended last month. She told the group that she listens to what the dogs tell her. The dogs she listens too said they know what humans are thinking, they may not give us eye contact however they are effected by our stresses and emotional imbalances, our lack of confidence and dogs notice our self neglect.

Human’s abuse and traumatic experiences will effect the animals in the household.

Are some dogs more prone to being nervous? Some believe that dogs are just plain and simple predisposed to nervous behaviours. For these believers, a dog’s temperament is genetically linked and there is not much that can be done to change it. They believe that it is in the dog’s nature, genetically instilled deep in their core.

On the other hand, there are those that believe that the environment is what will shape a dog’s temperament. Socialisation, interaction with litter-mates and humans will bring out the dog’s temperament.

What is your experience on this subject ?

In my experience carer’s emotional needs are unsupported.

Support for the Carer

  • Regular Reflexology
  • Listen to your emotions ‘screaming’  –  by staying with these emotions they will assist us to make a change
  • There are four ABFEssences to support carers : Alpine Mint Bush; Angelsword: Banksia Robur : Fringed Violet

Alpine Mint Bush

This Essence works on the mental and emotional levels. It is for people who work in healing, health administration and caring situations where there is a great deal of responsibility for other people. They give much of themselves both physically and emotionally, often listening to people in pain and need. These care givers can be in danger of burning out or becoming disillusioned. They can reach a point of tiredness feeling their life has lost its joy. Alpine Mint Bush can revitalise and bring about in these people a renewed enthusiasm and joy in their life for what they do.

Negative Condition:

• mental & emotional exhaustion

• lack of joy and weight of responsibility of care givers

Positive Outcome:

• revitalisation

• joy

• renewal

The Essence is for reaching one’s own spiritual truth by cutting through any confusion or misinformation, ie. helping you to discern the level of truth in ‘channelled messages’.Taking this Essence allows access and retrieval of previously developed gifts from past lives. Angelsword protects from outside influences and entities so one can receive clear information from one’s Higher Self without interference. Whilst Fringed Violet works to repair damage to the aura, Angelsword releases any energies that entered while the aura was open.

Negative Condition:

• interference with true spiritual connection to Higher Self

• spiritually possessed

• spiritual confusion

Positive Outcome:

• spiritual discernment

• accessing gifts from past lifetimes

• release of negatively held psychic energies

• clear spiritual communication

Banksia Robur This Essence addresses temporary loss of drive and enthusiasm due to burn out, disappointment or frustration. It will pick them up out of the ‘bog’ they are in and get them back on solid ground and going again. When bathing add seven drops of this Essence to the bath which will enhance the effects of the remedy as it will assist in washing away negativity.

Negative Condition:

• disheartened

• lethargic

• frustrated

Positive Outcome:

• enjoyment of life

• enthusiasm

• interest in life

Fringed Violet is for treating damage to the aura where there has been shock, grief or distress e.g. from abuse or assault. This remedy maintains psychic protection and is excellent for people who are drained by others or those who unconsciously absorb the physical and emotional imbalances of others. It releases shock from the body. When used in combination with Flannel Flower or Wisteria it is beneficial for those who have suffered abuse.

Negative Condition:

• damage to aura

• distress

• lack of psychic protection

Positive Outcome:

• removal of effects of recent or old distressing events

• heals damage to aura

• psychic protection

Dosage: 7 drops under the tongue each morning and evening for 14 days. Connect with the description of each flower and trust which flower essences suits you best on the day. Focus on one issue at a time i.e. I feel burnt out.

14 days later work on the next issue again connect with the description of each flower and trust which flower essences suits you best from this group on the day.

This information works for humans and animals alike. It is very safe and you cannot over dose. If for any reason the body doesn’t need the dose on the day the body is clever enough and will delete the dose with no side effects.

I now invite my fellow members and the general public to give me feedback as a contribution for on-going discussions.
